Six High Desert Middle Schoolers get ride in limousine, free lunch through special program to reward kids who do the right thing.
deschutes county sheriff’s office. six students from high desert middle school got to ride in this lincoln town car limo… and were treated to a free lunch at dandees. it’s part of the “leader” limousine program, which stands for law enforcement awarding dynamic examples of responsibility. the students are nominated by their schools… and for one winner… he says he stepped in when another student was being bullied. ### “like when someone is getting bullied, you can go there and tell the other person to knock it off. and if that person doesn’t knock it off, you can tell an adult.” “and we hope, by doing the right thing, it will assist us in keeping more folks out of trouble later on.” the code team seized the limo during a drug bust and sheriff larry blanton said he wanted to put it toward a positive program. lt. shane nelson says they’re going to try and take different groups of kids
